The Playstation E3 booth: PSVR and exclusives the star of the show
Sony's Playstation booth is so popular most of its sessions are fully booked after just 10 minutes of opening registrations

You can expect hundreds of people lining up for different booths at E3 every year. Some were more popular than most, getting queueing times of up to 5 hours. Others need a little more push.

This year, Sony Playstation’s pre-event press conference was compelling enough to attract large crowds to their massive E3 booth.

Most of the games showcased during Playstation’s press conference were present at their booth with PSVR and exclusive titles being the stars throughout the entire event.

Days Gone, God of War, and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare had their own closed sections where interested guests could watch extended gameplays and presentations.

Horizon: Zero Dawn also had its own space. It took up a larger area than the above-mentioned titles, however, as guests could watch an extended gameplay with additional commentary and get a hands-on demo of the game for 10 minutes.

At the middle of the Sony booth is a section of racing simulator peripherals ready to play with Gran Turismo Sport. Guests can race against each other for two laps on a track based in Tokyo.

More than half of the booth space is dedicated to PSVR and the many VR titles that gamers can try out. The crowd favorite among the VR titles is Far Point, a game that uses the new controller for PSVR which simulates a weapon.

Another favorite was Resident Evil VII’s VR demo, and it was definitely not for the faint of heart or those with weak stomachs.

Around these major attractions were hands-on areas for games like Gravity Rush, Killing Floor 2, and Let It Die.

Like almost everything that’s wildly in demand, unfortunately, not everyone could get a chance to try out the games they want. To make things more organized, the Sony Playstation booth had gamers download their Experience app so they could register for the sessions they’re interested in and not have to line up, allowing more time to explore.  (READ: Hideo Kojima returns, reveals new game at E3)

This put pressure on gamers to register quickly, as registration for all the sessions of each day only open at ten o’clock in the morning. The demand for all the attractions at the booth was so strong that all sessions were fully booked within the first ten minutes of registration.

Undeterred, guests still went up to the different sections in the booth in the hopes that a slot could open up at the last minute. Some waited for several sessions to pass before the golden opportunity presented itself.

If they weren’t lucky, many were still happy enough to linger longer and spectate the games in open sections before moving on to other booths.

The lucky ones however were given vouchers so they could receive a giveaway related to the game they registered for.

If you’re attending E3 next year, remember to queue up or sign up as early as you can for the sessions that you want especially if you anticipate a game will be of high demand. – Rappler.com
