Rooms called 'Petmalu' and 'May Forever,' a secret videoke room, and a real-life Facebook wall – check out the things we saw at Facebook Philippines' new work playground

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Tech companies are typically known for their cool offices that break convention. Divider-free work floors, play spaces, a pantry moms would die for, inspirational posters, and colorful visual cues and quirky room names to lighten the mood – the stuff Silicon Valley offices’ dreams are made of.

It’s a dream made real in Facebook Philippines. All these things, you’ll see in the new office of Facebook Philippines, located at the 32nd floor of the Menarco Tower in Taguig. The company has recently moved to this bigger space on account of what they say are increasing investments and programs in the country, focused on helping small and large businesses grow, and fostering a “safe, positive and informed community” for its 66 million Filipino monthly users.

And all of that starts in their office – newer and bigger, and with really impressive high ceilings. Take the tour:

They have a secret videoke room. A sliding display shelf conceals the mini party room. Inside, it’s meant to look like the interior of the MRT with the usual train seats and a destination indicator atop along with Facebook reaction smileys and emojis:

A Filipino-style ice cream cart was set up for the event:

Other recreational options: hoops, air hockey, and a treadmill:

Large wall-filling visual pieces bring a dynamic energy to the office:

The artwork by the entrance was designed by Filipino artist Kris Abrigo, who is said to have combined motifs from “traditional Filipino crafts, weaving patterns and festival buntings.”

“These fun and festive colors are balanced with natural tones of local floral and fauna. Drawing inspiration from the various provinces on the islands, the mural blends sentiments of work and play, grounding us in the present and yet connecting us to memories and meaningful places and things,” Facebook said. Take a look:

In the lobby, a cotton candy station was set up for the event:

Guests log on via a tablet for special events:

Automatic turnstiles lead guests in:

The office also has a literal wall for posting a “status.” It’s called the “Write Something Wall.”

The pantry, called the “microkitchen” has a shelf full of snacks and several refrigerators with drinks:
