MANILA, Philippines – Samsung’s finishing the year with a bang with the release of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, their phone-slash-tablet hybrid that uses a new foldable screen. 

At P109,990, it’s not entirely mass market. But according to Samsung, the device sold pretty well, having sold out “all available stocks” through its partners Globe and Smart. 

While we don’t know how many “all available stocks” is exactly, Samsung Philippines does seem to indicate that they’re pleased with the reception of the device among early adopters of a technology, a form factor that’s not yet wholly proven.

“We’re overwhelmed by the support of our loyal customers for wanting to unfold the future with the Galaxy Fold. They will be among the exclusive few who can get their hands on the biggest breakthrough device that began a new era in mobile technology,” said Jerry Mañus, Samsung Philippines’ business unit head of IT and mobile.

Samsung has also yet to say if they’re doing another round of orders in the future, with Fold pre-orders having closed last December 1.
