The PlayStation 5 is about to get a jolt in the arm with the upcoming roguelike Returnal from Finnish game studio Housemarque.
Published by Sony, Returnal is the first wholly original first-party IP for the PS5. It puts you in the space boots of Selene who crash lands in a strange planet with a deeply Prometheus-inspired aesthetic, and filled with tentacled baddies that spray you with all sorts of harmful orbs. Die, and it’s back to square one for you (well, except for a few things you gain in your previous playthrough) – just like any self-respecting roguelike would do to you.
The game comes out on April 30.
