Globe announced on Thursday, June 10, that its 5G roaming service will go live in Canada on June 15, and in the US on June 17.
Its partners are Telus in Canada, and AT&T in the US.
Globe also announced that it has sealed partnerships with Vodafone in Europe, with roaming available in Hungary, Germany, Ireland, and Netherlands by July 2021.
Vodafone subscribers on the other hand will also experience 5G connectivity in the Philippines.
In Europe, Globe’s 5G roaming service is also available in Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Estonia through Telia Company; and Italy through Telecom Italia.
Smart, on the other hand, launched its 5G roaming in May. In Europe, it has the service in Switzerland through Sunrise Communications.
Globe is also currently promoting its Roam Surf Plus package, which they can register on top of the Roam Surf 399 promo. Roam Surf 399 offers all-day surfing for postpaid subscribers and 1GB of data for prepaid customers at P399.
Surf Plus costs an extra P200, which will net postpaid subscribers all-day calls and all-net texts, while prepaid users get 60 minutes of calls and 60 all-net texts valid for 24 hours for both customers.
To register, postpaid customers must activate Roam Surf 399 by turning on mobile data and data roaming, while prepaid customers can register via GCash, GlobeOne or *143#. Once roaming is active, text ROAMSURFPLUS to 8080. The package is available for a limited time. – Rappler.com
