LG reveals V10 smartphone for PH
The LG V10 smartphone is meant to be a durable multimedia-capable device for power users and casual photographers alike

MANILA, Philippines – LG launched its V series of smartphones with the arrival of the LG V10 smartphone on Wednesday, November 25.

The LG V10 is built to be durable. Its frame is made of SAE grade 316L stainless steel and takes advantage of a Dura Guard frame. At the same time, the Dura Skin silicone back cover protects against direct impacts and nicks or scratches. The rear grid pattern was also designed to allow for an easy, secure grip.

The V10 sports a main and secondary display.  The main one is a 5.7-inch QHD IPS Quantum Display (2560×1440 at 513ppi), while the secondary screen is an IPS Quantum Display (160×1040 at 513ppi).

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Processor, the V10 comes with 64GB of storage and 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It also supports up to 2TB of additional storage via a microSD memory card.

One notable feature of the V10 is its 3-camera setup, with a 5-megapixel dual-lens front camera (supporting 80 degree and 120-degree standard and wide angle shots) and a 16 megapixel rear camera with F1.8 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) 2.0.

The V10 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and comes with a removable 3,000 mAh battery.

The V10 also has some additional features for multimedia shooters who want to take great photos, audio, and video:

  • Steady Record uses an electronic image stabilization (EIS) optimized for recording video to neutralize shake, helping to capture sharper video footage even when you’re on the move
  • Snap Video Mode: create one video by combining many shorter videos
  • 15-Sec. Auto Edit: create a short video highlight clip by automatically eliminating blurred frames and static scenes
  • Quick Video Editor: easily trim or change the frame rate and add after-effects, such as colors and background music
  • Quick Share: when finished recording, a pop-up appears on the display showing options of popular social networks to make video sharing even easier and faster
  • Audio Monitoring: adjust the sensitivity of the 3 microphones more accurately during video recording and directly monitor and control audio inputs
  • Wind Noise Filter: eliminate external wind noise for high-quality sound when shooting video outdoors

The LG V10 is priced at P37,990 ($807). There will also be a promotional period from November 27 to 29, where select LG concept stores in the country will offer a free 200GB memory card for every purchase of an LG V10. Rappler.com
