MANILA, Philippines – Sony announced on Tuesday, March 1, that it was discontinuing the PlayStation Portable (PSP) native store at the end of the month.

While customers can still purchase PSP content from Sony’s online store via a web browser, they will be unable to buy PSP content directly from the handheld device after March 31.

Sony added users will still be able to access previous purchases through the Download list on their PSP systems. They will also still have the ability to make in-game purchases via their PSP systems.

The news follows the discontinuation of one of Sony’s other devices, the PlayStation TV.
