MANILA, Philippines – Xiaomi on Thursday, June 2, unveiled its latest fitness and activity tracker – the Mi Band 2.

Technically the 3rd fitness tracker in its lineup following the Mi Band and the Mi Band Pulse, the Mi Band 2 tracks steps, the user’s heart rate, distance walked, and approximate calories burned, as well as supplies battery information and other data.

Xiaomi added the Mi Band 2 will also vibrate if sitting for too long – a reminder to make sure you keep moving.

Xiaomi’s Mi Band 2 uses Bluetooth 4.0 to connect to a user’s phone, and comes with an estimated 20 days of battery life on a single charge. The device is IP67 water-resistant with replaceable silicon straps.

Xiaomi’s new activity tracker is priced slightly higher than its predecessors at $23 (RMB 149). The original Mi Band previously went on sale for $13.

Sales of the device will begin in China on June 7. – Rappler.com
