MANILA, Philippines – Twitter may be planning to cut some 300 jobs – approximately 8% of its workforce – as early as this week, according to a Bloomberg report on Monday, October 24 (October 25, Manila time).

The Bloomberg report, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter, said a job reduction announcement may come before Twitter announces its third-quarter earnings report on Thursday.

The report also said the number of people being cut was still fluid and subject to change.

A Twitter spokesperson, however, declined to comment.

Twitter was trying to explore a sale of the company, but the companies who expressed interest in buying Twitter – Salesforce, Alphabet, and The Walt Disney Company – eventually backed out. – Rappler.com
