YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki reveals the statistic at the YouTube Brandcast 2018 presentation while Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl announces 3 more years of partnership with the Coachella music festival

MANILA, Philippines – Youtube is now a prime mecca for entertainment, with 1.8 billion logged-in users going to the site monthly, according to the company’s CEO, Susan Wojcicki.

According to Variety, Wojcicki said this at the YouTube Brandcast event in New York on Thursday, May 3. New content agreements were also being sealed in addition to renewing some of its existing deals.

Three deals out of the 7 ad-supported original shows announced last year would be renewed, including a second season of The Super Slow Show by The Slow Mo Guys and Kevin Hart’s comedy celebrity-fitness reality series, What the Fit?

YouTube Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl meanwhile announced it has renewed an exclusive live-streaming agreement with Coachella music festival. The agreement lasts another 3 years.

Aside from this, Kyncl also said YouTube will be working with Will Smith for a charity fund-raising event called “The Jump-Off” – where Smith will be live-streamed taking a leap from a helicopter and bungee jumping over the Grand Canyon. The Jump Off is slated to occur on September 25, Will Smith’s birthday.

Other agreements Kyncl revealed at Brandcast were a deal to bring LeBron James’ Best Shot documentary series about high-school basketball players to the NBA YouTube channel; an original series starring Quantico’s Priyanka Chopra called If I Could Tell You Just One Thing, where she talks to people around the world to ask for the best advice they have for others; and Training Days, a series debuting on May 9, where comedy actor Jack Whitehall trains with top soccer players. – Rappler.com
