HTC reveals Desire 610 and Desire 816 mid-range smartphones
MANILA, Philippines – HTC announced a pair of new mid-range Android smartphones on Wednesday, February 26, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The two phones are the Desire 610 and the Desire 816, with the Desire 816 billed as the company's "flagship mid-range phone."
The Desire 610 features a 4.7-inch qHD display and an 8-megapixel camera. It runs on a 1.2 GhZ quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and microSDXC card support.
It also features a 2,040 mAh battery and uses HTC Sense software, which modifies the Android user experience with extra features and adds some HTC developed applications to the phone.
HTC's Desire 816 is a bit more feature-rich.
The Desire 816 uses a 5.5-inch 720p HD display and carries a 13-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video capture. The device runs on a 1.6 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor and 1.5GB of RAM. It also comes with 8GB of internal storage, microSDXC card support for extra storage, and a 2,600 mAh battery. It also uses HTC Sense software to augment the Android experience.
Aside from the Sense software enhancements, both feature the BoomSound front-facing speaker technology.
HTC says the Desire 610 will be available across Europe beginning May, while the Desire 816 will launch in China in March. Prices have not been revealed for either device. – Rappler.com
