MANILA, Philippines – Sony Philippines announced Tuesday, October 14, that the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact smartphones will launch locally on the 4th week of October, and will be available in all Sony Centers, Xperia shops, and additional authorized dealers.
Revealed back in September, Sony’s Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact are both waterproof and dust tight, taking advantage of a 20.7 megapixel rear camera and a 2.2 megapixel front-facing camera that supports HD1080p video chat use. Both run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) and take advantage of a Snapdragon 2.5 Ghz Qualcomm Quad-core processor.
Whereas the Xperia Z3 uses a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, the Z3 Compact uses a 4.6-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display.
Sony’s Xperia Z3 is priced at P34,990, while the Xperia Z3 Compact is priced at 29,490.
Sony also announced two additional pieces of smartwear that are compatible with the company’s Lifelog Android app: the SmartBand Talk and the SmartWatch 3.
The SmartBand Talk features a curved 1.4-inch e-paper display, and has a built-in microphone and speaker allowing users to receive calls using the device. It has built-in accelerometer and altimeter sensor technology to track your activity, and is waterproof, just like the Xperia Z3 series.
Sony’s Smartband Talk will be available by November for P8,990.
Meanwhile, the SmartWatch 3 is Sony’s latest generation of smartwatch and is powered by Android Wear. As a lifelogging device, the SmartWatch 3 features built-in accelerometer, compass, gyro, and GPS sensor technologies, and uses a 1.6-inch 320×320 display set within a stainless-steel, waterproof core unit.
The Sony SmartWatch 3 will be available by Novermber for P11,990. – Rappler.com
