You can now tweet money transfers in France
Groupe BPCE is enabling money transfers to be done through Twitter via its electronic money subsidiary S-Money

MANILA, Philippines – Money transfers in France can now be done through Twitter, thanks to a new system in place in the country.

Mashable reports that Groupe BPCE, one of France’s largest banks, is enabling the new system via its electronic money subsidiary S-Money.

In a statement in September, Jean-Yves Forel, CEO of commercial banking and insurance at Groupe BPCE, said, “Groupe BPCE is the first banking group to offer individuals a payment solution where they can transfer money with a simple Tweet.”

“This S-Money initiative,” Forel added “opens up a whole new range of payment possibilities on the social networks.”

The new service has stiff competition, however, with other mobile payment options, including Square, Google, and Venmo already available to send money to others instantly.

Back in September, Twitter also started testing a Buy button for ads placed on the microblogging site. – Rappler.com
