MANILA, Philippines – Pornography website Pornhub showed its data for 2014 last Wednesday, January 7, noting not only figures of overall usage statistics, but also the countries that ranked the highest in pornography consumption via Pornhub online. The Philippines, according to Pornhub’s data now ranks 19th in the world for the company’s worldwide traffic.

According to the company’s data, the Philippines shot up 8 places to rank 19th in the top 20 countries that peruse Pornhub.

The United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India, and Germany are first through fifth, respectively.

The Philippines’ top search terms for 2014 mainly had to do with local content, with 4 of the top 5 searches being Pinoy, Pinay, Filipina, and Filipino. Hentai – a form of Japanese animated pornography – shot up 12 places in searches to rank third among the top 5 Philippine search terms.

Pornhub’s 2014 Year in Review also notes that the company had 78.9 billion videos viewed in the year, or approximately “11 videos viewed for every person on Earth.”

The website also averages around 5,800 visits every second, totalling 18.35 billion visits in 2014. Despite the large number of visitors, few are there to comment, with only 1.04 million comments in 2014 compared to the visitor numbers.

Also of note is the amount of bandwidth they need to keep up with the demand. Pornhub maintains an average bandwidth of around 50 gigabytes per second.
