Sony announces 2 new PS4 exclusive games in PH
The games are The Order: 1886 and Bloodborne, which Sony representatives believe will be a hit with Filipino gamers

MANILA, Philippines – Sony announced on Wednesday, February 4, the launch of two PlayStation 4 (PS4) exclusive titles: The Order: 1886 and Bloodborne.

Arata Naito, Sony Computer Entertainment’s Manager for Asia Marketing, talked about the two games, giving a little bit of background on what went into the creation of the games as well as some information on the gameplay.

Naito noted the support of Filipino gamers when asked why they held an event in the Philippines.

“We are very excited for this event in the Philippines because Philippine gamers have been supportive of the PlayStation 4 and this year we are releasing two very distinctive titles, The Order: 1886 and Bloodborne, so this is a good opportunity for us to come to the Philippines and introduce our games,” Naito told Rappler.

The Order: 1886

The first game is The Order: 1886 – set in a unique universe of Victorian-Era London where myths and technology co-exist. Gamers play as members of an elite order of knights.

The gameplay bears some similarity to action-adventure survival horror video game The Last of Us which takes full advantage of the PlayStation 4’s capabilities by blurring the line between gameplay and cinematic action scenes, seamlessly allowing the player to fully immerse themselves in the story.

The Order: 1886 is exclusively a single player game that focuses on cinematic gameplay and storytelling.

“The acting part has been done by real actors and Ready at Dawn studios has used motion capture technology so all the motions and acting has been captured and also their facial expression is captured,” said Naito, commenting on the cinematic feel of the game.

The game will be available globally on February 20th.

Bloodborne

The second game is Bloodborne where players take on the role of one of four hunters, each wielding their own weapon of choice as they navigate through the fictional ruined city of Yharnam. Yharnam is plagued with an illness that turns its citizens into monsters.

However, a potent remedy is rumored to be hidden within the city and the hunters battle against Yharnam’s horrors to find it.

Bloodborne is a strategic hack-and-slash game with RPG elements thrown in and plays a lot like From Software’s previous hit game, Dark Souls.

Naito believes Filipino gamers will enjoy the “challenging” game.

“It’s challenging, but if you observe the enemies and the environment, you can always overcome the enemies. I want them to feel the sense of achievement by beating the enemies.”

Unlike The Order: 1886, Bloodborne will have multiplayer capabilities making sure that “when you’re a hunter in the city of Yharnam, you are not alone.”

“There are other hunters might be able to help you or they might turn into beasts, you’ll never know. But you are not alone in the town of Yharnam,” Naito quipped.

The game will hit the global market on March 24th. – with reports from Michelle Ann Lorenzo/Rappler.com
