MANILA, Philippines – Sony announced on Tuesday, March 2, a new flagship Xperia tablet that aims to compete with the iPad Air 2.

Dubbed the Xperia Z4 Tablet at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Sony’s new tablet is a lightweight device at 389 grams (393 grams for WiFi+LTE version) that expands upon its previous iterations with more power.

The Xperia Z4 Tablet runs Android Lollipop on a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and comes with 3GB of RAM and up to 32GB of flash memory. The memory is expandable up to 128GB thanks to a microSD card slot.

The tablet comes with a 10.1-inch (2560 x 1600 pixels) display made of scratch resistant glass. It also takes advantage of an 8.1 megapixel rear camera and a 5.1 megapixel front camera.

The Xperia Z4 Tablet also has IP65 level waterproofing and IP68 dust protection.
