'I see blood': Netizens on Imee Marcos cover
MANILA, Philippines – Ageless or tasteless?
On Tuesday, October 6, Philippine Tatler announced through their social media accounts that Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, daughter of ousted president Ferdinand Marcos and Ilocos Norte Representative Imelda Marcos, is on the cover of its October 2015 issue.
Philippine Tatler magazine is "the ultimate arbiter of high society, taste and glamour," proclaims its official Facebook page.
Marcos also posted the photo on her Facebook page, which was received well by her followers.
Some netizens praised the "ageless beauty" of the governor who is turning 60 this year. The magazine also printed the words "Beautiful. Strong. Enigmatic." above Marcos' name.
The issue comes out after Marcos' brother, Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr, declared his bid for the vice presidency.
Other netizens slammed Philippine Tatler for its choice, however, pointing out the dark martial law years under the Marcos dictatorship from 1972 until 1986, when he was ousted in the EDSA People Power Revolution.
The Facebook post below by Lorraine Marie Badoy, dated October 8, already has over 8,000 likes, 3,200 shares and 2,500 comments – and counting.
"I see red, Imee. I see the blood of thousands of martyrs of Martial Law--bloodied, hogtied, chopped with evidence of severe torture, rape," Badoy wrote.
Pixel Offensive edited the magazine cover and uploaded the photoshopped version with the caption: "#NeverForget."

Some Facebook users also pointed out that Philippine Tatler was deleting negative comments on their Facebook page.
"We are lucky you can only delete our comments. The Marcoses and their cronies made their opponents disappear completely," writes Noelle De Guzman.
