Live video on Facebook? You bet.

Did you know that your smartphone is as good as a compact broadcast van with a camera? The more social media-savvy are familiar with Periscope and Meerkat – livestreaming apps that allow every smartphone user to be a broadcaster on the go.

Now imagine livestreaming on Facebook, with Rappler as the first news group in the Philippines to alpha-test its app. It’s available for public figures but not to news groups. 

In this live tour of the International Media Center, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, who heads APEC’s communications’ team, takes Rappler’s Facebook subscribers through the ins and outs of what would be home to more than 3,500 journalists from all over the world – from the grand plenary area to the massage lounge.
