#AlDub sets new record: #AlDubEBTamangPanahon pulls in 41 million tweets

2015 was definitely a huge year for breakout loveteam Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza. On October 24, #AlDubEBTamangPanahon generated 41 million tweets, beating their previous record of over 26 million tweets during their first date episode last September.

#AlDubEBTamangPanahon also broke another record previously set by the World Cup’s Germany versus Brazil match in 2014, which pulled in 35.6 million tweets.

Earlier that month, Mendoza, Richards, Wally Bayola, and the producers of Eat Bulaga‘s hit Kalyeserye series received an award in the 1st Catholic Social Media Awards from church-based organizations Youth Pinoy and Areopagus Communications Inc.
