Pokémon huGOt in the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – Pokémon GO is everywhere.

When Pokémon GO finally launched in the Philippines on August 6, Filipinos didn’t waste time getting to know the ins and outs of the already-famous augmented reality game.

Along with the initial excitement of being a “real-life” Pokémon trainer came a rush of quirky online posts about the game.

People started to imagine how Pokémon GO would fit into the daily life of the average Filipino:

Innocent bystanders can’t deny the effect Pokémon GO has had on Filipinos across the country. Youth (and the young at heart) from all walks of life have begun converging in hang-out spots, with posts on the game taking over social media feeds.
