MANILA, Philippines – Never underestimate the heart of a warrior.
Gilas Pilipinas may have dropped their second straight World Cup battle, this time to the hands of the mighty Greece, 70-82, but naturalized big man Andray Blatche lived up to his words that he will fight through the pain after he suffered a twisted knee in their game against Croatia.
Filipino supporters who were wide awake at 2 in the morning (Philippine time) to cheer for Gilas Pilipinas national team couldn’t help but praise and commend the effort of Blatche as the big man noticeably played hurt until Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes opted to rest him with under 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter. He finished with 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the team.
Blatche also became one of the top trending topics in the Philippines, together with four other World Cup related keywords.

In less than 20 hours, Philippines will once again face another title contender as the game versus Argentina is set at 11:30pm, September 1. The battle continues. – Rappler.com
