Can crowdsourcing on social media bring long-lost siblings together?

MANILA, Philippines – What if you found out you had a twin – but only when you were already 34 years old?

It happened recently to Maggie Gifford, a woman of Korean ethnicity from Albany, New York, and she decided to get netizens across the world involved. Maggie posted a Facebook photo of herself with her two requests: the first asking for help in finding her long-lost twin, and the second asking readers to “like” and “share” the post itself.

Her photo read:

Looking for Korean adoptee/orphan born on April 16, 1980!

Never knew I was a twin until setting eyes on orphanage papers. No other info about twin except that I have one.

My info:

Korean name: Koh, Choon-Oh

Orphanage: IlMagwon Babies Home, Gunsan, Korea

Contact info: Maggie Gifford, Albany, NY

Email: shortymk@yahoo.com

Families have been physically reunited thanks to social media in the past. Do you think Maggie’s efforts will be successful, too? Or would you actually have any information regarding her twin? Send us your thoughts or information in the comments section below! – Rappler.com
