Alan Cayetano ‘shameless,’ ‘disrespectful’ – Twitter users
MANILA, Philippines – “Are you ready for democracy?”
This question, delivered by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) chief peace negotiator Mohagher Iqbal, was one of many tense moments at the Senate’s 5th hearing on the Mamasapano clash on Tuesday, February 24.
A number of people on Twitter frowned upon Cayetano’s confrontational style of questioning Iqbal, accusing the former of grandstanding and badgering. Searching the name "Alan Peter Cayetano" on the platform churned out mainly negative reactions toward the senator, though some Twitters users also approved of his statements.
