Over 100 inmates escape from Kidapawan jail

More than 100 inmates escaped from the North Cotabato District Jail in Kidapawan City after unidentified armed men attacked the facility early Wednesday. A jail officer was killed in the attack.

AFP wants custody of Marcelino

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) wants custody of Marine Lieutenant Colonel Ferdinand Marcelino, a former drug enforcement agent now facing trial for illegal possession of drugs. While waiting for the court to decide on that, the AFP said Marcelino will remain detained at the AFP Custodial Center.

Budget chief proposes pay hike for cops, soldiers

Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno submitted a proposal to increase the regular pay of cops and soldiers. Diokno submitted his proposal to the Office of the President but it will also need Congress approval.
