MANILA, Philippines – Rappler talks to Curtis Chin, the former U.S. Ambassador to the Asian Development Bank.
During his tenure at the ADB, Ambassador Chin was an advocate for reforms in the operations of the region’s leading multilateral lending institution.
He talks to Rappler about the renewed optimism in the Philippine economy and the challenges to sustain growth. He says that for development to be substantive, governments and institutions must keep the welfare of the people as the main priority.
Ambassador Chin is currently a Senior Fellow and Executive-in-Residence at the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand. He also serves on the board of Community and Family Services International, an international humanitarian organization based in Manila. – Rappler.com
