MANILA, Philippines – For Tony Hawk, age is nothing but a number.
For people wondering if Hawk still has what it takes to impress and wow, yes he does. In this video, the 46 year old professional skateboarder chooses a moving Mini Cooper as his obstacle for this trick, called an ‘ollie.’ Hawk and the blue compact Mini Hardtop race towards each other – but the seemingly imminent head on collision doesn’t happen. Seconds before crashing into one another, Hawk makes skateboarding magic and more importantly, avoids serious injury.
Hawk, also known as ‘The Birdman’ is best known though for the first documented ‘900,’ a 900 degree aerial spin on a ramp. After achieving the 900, the world famous skateboarder retired from competition. Clearly, retiring hasn’t slowed him down.
