What can the public expect from Senator Alan Cayetano?
MANILA, Philippines – Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano is known for his confrontational style of questioning during the past Senate hearings on the Mamasapano operation. In the past, he has also implied the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) is a terrorist group, blaming them for the Mamasapano clash.
Cayetano is a co-author of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) which aims to create an expanded region in Muslim Mindanao as part of the government’s peace process with the MILF. He withdrew his support for the bill in the wake of the January 25 clash.
