VP BINAY SUFFERS LOWEST RATINGS IN SWS
Vice President Jejomar Binay’s satisfaction ratings drop to its lowest since he was elected in 2010. A survey from the Social Weather Stations shows Binay hitting a net satisfaction rating of 44% in November-December, a steep decline from his 73% recorded in March 2014. In September, Binay’s rating stood at 52% around the time corruption allegations against him surfaced. But Binay’s camp says the survey results show the majority is still satisfied with the Vice President’s performance.

HAIYAN VICTIMS, MILF LOOK FORWARD TO POPE VISIT
Two days before Pope Francis visits the Philippines organizers say a possible storm could cancel his trip to the province of Leyte. State weather bureau PAGASA says a low pressure area over the Pacific Ocean could become a storm by Thursday. The pope will be visiting Leyte Saturday which was badly hit by Super Typhoon Haiyan locally known as Yolanda in 2013. A church spokesman from the town of Palo says it might be dangerous for the Pope to travel to Leyte if there is a storm unless he decides to stay for another day and wait for the storm to pass. Apart from Haiyan victims, former Muslim rebel group Moro Islamic Liberation Front or MILF also look forward to the Pope’s visit. In an interview with Rappler, Cardinal Orlando Quevedo says the MILF wants the Pope to visit Cotabato City in Mindanao.

And so because of that many of the leaders of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front wanted to him to visit Cotabato. And the MILF in fact, the chair, Murad, Chairman Murad sent a letter of invitation through me.

CEBU PACIFIC FINED P52M FOR BOTCHED HOLIDAY FLIGHTS
Aviation officials slap budget airline Cebu Pacific Air Inc with a P52-million fine over complaints about flight delays and cancellations during the Christmas holidays. Civil Aeronautics Board or CAB director Jose Victor Luciano says 10,400 passengers were inconvenienced between December 24 and 26. The CAB also reprimands Cebu Pacific for its “operational lapses and mishandling of passengers.” Cebu Pacific blames air traffic congestion for its holiday mishap but the CAB says the airline’s claims does not appear to be supported by facts that caused the delays. Cebu Pacific could still file an appeal before the CAB Board.

PRO-ISIS HACKERS TAKE OVER US CENTCOM SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS
A group declaring support for jihadist group ISIS or Islamic State of Iraq and Syria hacked US Central Command’s social media accounts Monday forcing the US military to take down the command’s Twitter feed. A black-and-white banner with the words “CyberCaliphate” and “I love you ISIS” replaced Central Command’s usual logo on Twitter and YouTube before the pages were suspended. The military downplays the hack. The US Pentagon, which devotes a great deal of effort to its social media accounts, says the incident amounted to mere digital “vandalism.” The military adds, no sensitive computer networks were penetrated and no state secrets were revealed.

PH 19TH TOP PORN VIEWER ONLINE
The Philippines ranks 19th for pornography website Pornhub’s worldwide traffic in 2014. The United States and United Kingdom are at the top two on the list. The Philippines’ top search terms for 2014 includes hentai – a form of Japanese animated porn. Pornhub’s 2014 Year in Review says the site had 78.9 billion videos viewed in the year or approximately “11 videos viewed for every person on Earth.”
