These are the words of Coach Freddie Roach about his prized fighter, Manny Pacquiao, who is back in the gym, training for his November showdown against Brandon Rios.
Pacquiao is so tireless and active, he’s managed to squeeze in a basketball game at the end of an already full day.
At Wild Card gym in General Santos, everyone is in good spirits as preparations for the fight are underway. Since Roach returned here exactly a week ago, practice has been in full swing for team Pacquiao.
Today Pacquiao impressed even his training camp mainstays. Assistant coach Bubuy Fernandez said Pacquiao ran about 8 miles this morning in 41 minutes, adding Pacquiao is in great shape.
Roach too is satisfied with what he has seen so far, saying Pacquiao is more hungry than ever

FREDDIE ROACH: Well, he’s very excited. He wanted to fight earlier, I wanted him to fight a little bit later. The time off will be good for him. He’s really fresh right now. He’s really anxious to get back in the ring. He’s hungry.

Pacquiao will face American fighter Rios in Macau on November 24 Manila time. The Filipino boxer is coming off his longest hiatus yet, after staying out of the ring for about a year following his shocking knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez last December.
Pacquiao’s upcoming fight is understandably crucial, a chance for the 7 division world champion to prove he is back and better than ever.
