Art in Island: 3D paintings from floor to ceiling

Earlier this year some Rapplers went crazy over Art In Island, an interactive 3D museum.

We decided to go back and take some videos!

Matthew Ang reports in this week’s SciTech4u episode:

We’re here at Art In Island, one of the biggest 3D museums in Asia.
It is located at the heart of Cubao in Quezon City.

It’s a museum with visually stunning 3D artworks you can interact with and be part of.
Be part of Van Gogh’s Starry Night, lodge yourself into the jaws of a monster, and marvel in the ruins of ancient civilizations.
Founded by Korean Yun Jae Kyoung and several other partners, this place took 14 3D artists to work on all the paintings in just 4 months.

MARGARET MAMAUAG, ARTIST/MARKETING MANAGER, ART IN ISLAND: The material we used – mixed media such as acrylic and oil paint so that it’s more realistic. We also used resin on the floor to preserve the paintings and make them last for months.
