Rappler Talk: The brain center of PH maritime law enforcement ops
Rappler talked to executive director Jose Luis Alano about the newly inaugurated National Coast Watch Center, which will serve as the brain center of the country's maritime law enforcement operations.
The facility, built by the Americans inside the headquarters of the Philippine Coast Guard, will coordinate the efforts of various government agencies to get a complete picture of what's happening in the country's waters, including its 200-nautical mile exclusive economic zone under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. It aims to fill the gaps left by poor equipment and fix overlaps in government response. The project is on Phase 1. – Rappler.com
