MANILA, Philippines – On Thursday, January 9, the annual Feast of the Black Nazarene is again expected to draw millions of devotees. (READ: Sketching the story of the Black Nazarene)
The Black Nazarene, with the cross resting on his shoulder, will make its way along the roads of Manila, through the city's heat and traffic and a sea of people who believe in the miraculous powers of the dark-skinned image.
A mass will be celebrated by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle at the Quirino Grandstand before the religious statue traces a path from Luneta to the Quiapo Church.
