MANILA, Philippines – British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) gives fans of its “Sherlock” series a Christmas gift.
On December 24, 2013, the television network uploaded a prequel to the much awaited third season of the British crime thriller.
Part of the video shows Dr. John Watson, played by “The Hobbit” star Martin Freeman, watching a recorded video of Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) intended for his birthday where the detective says, “Many happy returns. Don’t worry, I will be with you again. Very soon.”

Announced in October, the series will return for its third season on January 19, 2014 in the USA, almost two years since the end of the last season.
In a report on Entertainment Weekly, producers of the show say the delay for the third season was caused by the huge demand for the two lead actors.
Cumberbatch played the lead villain role in “Star Trek: Into Darkness,” while Freeman played Bilbo Baggins in “The Hobbit” films.
Like it’s first two seasons, the third offering will feature 3 episodes – the last of which is set to air on February 2. – Rappler.com
