Joko Widodo makes history on October 20, 2014, when he is inaugurated as Indonesia's 7th president

JAKARTA, Indonesia – On Monday, October 20, a man who grew up in poverty in a small provincial town will be inaugurated president of the world’s third largest democracy. 

Monday marks the end of Joko “Jokowi” Widodo‘s historic journey to the presidency, and the beginning of a new era in Indonesia. Alongside him, Jusuf Kalla, who was vice president of Indonesia from 2004-09, will be inaugurated again for the same position.
