Yaoundé, CAMEROON – Thirteen Chadian soldiers were killed on Wednesday in a counter-attack by Boko Haram militants on the Cameroonian border town of Fotokol, Cameroon’s defense minister said.
Nigerian Boko Haram fighters went on the rampage in the same town on Wednesday, February 4.
“After finishing the count in Fotokol, we… found 13 Chadian soldiers killed,” the minister, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o, said Thursday. (READ: Chad forces retake border town from Boko Haram)
He also said 81 civilians had been killed, up from a toll of around 70 given Wednesday, and confirmed that six Cameroonian soldiers had died. – Rappler.com
