JAKARTA, Indonesia — Remember Wina Lia, the Indonesian woman whose house-for-sale ad went viral because it came along with her hand in marriage? Well, she’s found a buyer.
Two months after posting the ad online, the 40-year-old resident of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, confirmed she has found a suitable buyer for her house and future husband. (READ: Good deal? House for sale in Indonesia comes with free wife)
“His name is Redi Eko, a 40-year-old widower from Lampung. He wants to live in Yogyakarta. He contacted me a while ago and we connected,” she told Kompas.com on Wednesday, May 13.
It seems like a match made in online heaven. Redi was also looking for a wife when his staff, who saw the ad, gave him Wina’s phone number. At the same time, his children, who are studying in Yogyakarta, have been asking him to move to the city.
When they began talking on the phone, the stars seem to have aligned.
“I told him about my financial problems, which led me to sell the house. He respects me and cares for me. He said that he wants to help solve my problem. So, in the future we will both stay in the house,” Wina said.
The house — which has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a parking space and a fish pond – should have enough space for both of them and his kids, if they want to visit.
The two haven’t actually met, but it appears they already have wedding plans.
“We will go for Umrah (pilgrimage in Mecca), then we will make this official,” she said.
There’s no word yet on whether Wina still intends to pursue her singing career.
But since her crazy idea appears to have worked, are there any home-owning singletons out there interested in trying the same thing? —Rappler.com
