The debate on food security, energy, and environmental issues marked the end of a month-long campaign period that saw the once-seemingly-insurmountable lead of Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo over former general Prabowo Subianto dwindle to just a few points. The stakes are high for Indonesia.
With the race now too close to call, both pairs of candidates are mounting a last-ditch effort to convince swing voters they deserve their vote on Wednesday, July 9.
