14-year-old student found dead, raped by 14 men

JAKARTA, Indonesia – A young woman found dead in Indonesia is said to have been raped by 14 men before she was hit in the head by timber and killed. 

The body of a 14-year-old junior high school student, known only as Yuyun – many Indonesians go only by one name – was found in a ditch in Bengkulu Province. Her bruised corpse was found 3 days after her death, tied up and naked.

Local media quoted police as saying there was a strong stench.

“We have secured 12 of the 14 perpetrators of the rape. The two others we are still pursuing,” Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Rejang Lebong Dirmanto said.

Of the 12 arrested, only two are believed to be older than Yuyun.

Police said Yuyun was on her way home in her school uniform before she was taken by one of the perpetrators whom she knew personally, and dragged into the woods where she was raped and then killed.

The names of the perpetrators have yet to be released, but their initials were published. – Rappler.com
