Socialite couple throws lavish yacht party for their dogs

JAKARTA, Indonesia — Some people celebrate their dogs’ birthdays with an extra treat or two for their beloved pets – while others throw a full-on pooch party.

Case in point? Socialite couple Richard Muljadi and Shalvynne Chang who on Saturday, December 10, threw a lavish birthday party on a yacht for their two French bulldogs, Coco and Lulu.

Richard is a scion of the Muljadi Family – whose net worth of US$760 million puts them 40th in Forbes’ list of the 50 richest Indonesians – while Shalvynne is a film and soap opera actress.

Referring to their dogs as their children, and to themselves as “mum & dad”, the multi-millionaire couple started hyping the party a few weeks ago by holding an iPhone 7 giveaway for party theme suggestions.

The opulent party ended with a suitably extravagant display of fireworks.

This is not the first party Muljadi and Chang have thrown for their four-legged friends. Last year, Coco’s birthday bash was graced by a DJ.

But this year was extra special. The bulldog celebrant received a car for a birthday gift, to make their ride to the salon more comfortable.
