MANILA, Philippines – The world got its first glimpse of the royal baby after Prince William and his wife Kate left St. Mary’s Hospital with their newborn son Tuesday evening, July 23.

The couple emerged from the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s at 7:13pm UK time (2:13am MNL) to answer questions from reporters.

The unnamed prince whose official title is “Prince of Cambridge”, is third in line to the throne and in the direct line of succession after Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest son and heir Prince Charles, then his eldest son William.

When asked about a name, William replied, “we’re still working on a name, we’ll have that as soon as we can.” He then added, “he’s got way more hair than me, thank God.”

William and Kate were all smiles and relaxed as they approached reporters. Prince William says the baby looks like his mother. He jokingly remarked, “I’ll have to remind him of his tardiness when he’s older, I know you’ve all been out here waiting a long time.”

The couple, dressed in light blue returned inside the hospital wing at 7:16pm (UK time) to place the baby in a car seat as per regulation. They left the hospital aboard a black Range Rover at 7:20pm (UK time) en route to Kensington Palace.

The royal baby was delivered at 4:24pm UK time, on Monday July 22 weighing 8lbs. 6oz. His father was present at his mother’s bedside during his birth. – Rappler.com
