QC: Expect heavy traffic along Elliptical Road Sept 20-25
ADVISORY: While the drainage improvement project in the area is ongoing, the Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety suggests alternate routes

This is an advisory from the Quezon City government.

MANILA, Philippines – Motorists and commuters passing through Elliptical Road in Quezon City are advised to take alternate routes beginning Tuesday, September 20, as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is scheduled to start a drainage improvement project in the area.

With heavy traffic expected during the construction of the project, the QC Department of Public Order and Safety has identified Visayas Avenue, Kalayaan Avenue, and the University of the Philippines as alternate routes for motorists bound for Edsa.

The drainage improvement, which will involve pipe-laying activities along the Quezon Memorial Circle fronting the Department of Agriculture (DA) building, is scheduled until September 25.

In his letter to Mayor Herbert Bautista, DPWH Regional Director Melvin Navarro said 5 inner lanes of the Elliptical Road shall be affected by the drainage improvement project, which will be constructed by the DPWH during night time – that is, from 10 pm to 4 am, to avoid too much inconvenience to the public.

The project, which forms part of the DPWH’s “Assets Preservation of National Roads” program, has been issued with a permit by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). – Rappler.com
