GIFTS: A scientific seminar and fellowship for private school health officers

The following is a press release from The Philippine Private School Health Officers’ Association (PHSOA)

The Philippine Private School Health Officers’ Association (PSHOA), Incorporated, the national organization of private school physicians, dentists, nurses and allied professionals, will hold its 2016 Yearend Scientific Seminar and Pre-Christmas Fellowship on December 3, 7 am to 6 pm, at the Unilab Bayanihan Center Annex along Pioneer St. Mandaluyong City, with the main theme “PSHOA GIFTS (Getting Into Fitness, Transcending Stress)!” and reflection sub-theme: “Growing In Faith To Serve!”

The objectives of the scientific seminar and fellowship are:

1. To expand our knowledge and outlook in improving our health services through scientific sessions about getting in shape and nutrition
2. To enrich our ability to overcome stress in our working environment 
3. To remain steadfast in our faith through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist as a manifestation of thankfulness for all our blessings and resolve to serve others
4. To provide an avenue of camaraderie among our members through games, fellowship and gift giving

The day will begin with the traditional Thanksgiving Mass/Service/Yearend Reflection to be followed by four timely scientific lectures, dealing with nutrition trends and updates, dental caries, and stress management. Then, a Pre-Christmas Party awaits delegates in the afternoon where everyone is urged to participate in a fellowship hour featuring various games and gimmicks. Likewise, light and comfortable attire is encouraged for the delegates to fully enjoy and benefit from a Zumba fitness activity.

All private school physicians, dentists, nurses, and allied personnel, as well as school heads and administrators in all levels, are urged to attend this major PSHOA activity in view of their essential roles in promoting total school health care. Registration fee will cost P800.
