UPLB Com Arts Soc: [Re]Play: A Haunting of Nostalgic Nightmares

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna – The UPLB Com Arts Society will be staging [Re]Play: A Haunting of Nostalgic Nightmares this March 5 to 6, 4PM and 7PM at the CAS Annex 1 building, NCAS Auditorium, University of the Philippines Los Baños.

It will be a series of two one-act plays about the remains of the past as they haunt the present lives of the characters.

[Re]Play: A Haunting of Nostalgic Nightmares will be staging “Noche Buena” written by Brylle James Galang and directed by Nashla Camille Locsin, and “Irene” written by Mark Ian Billante and directed by Micah Sementilla. Members of The UPLB Com Arts Society star in both one act plays, with guest performances by Trevor Lim, Jose Gabriel Gloria, Patricia Marie Catriz, John Matthew Prieto, and Jarrod Papasin.

Tickets will be made available on February 24 for only 80 pesos at a booth to be set up near the UPLB Com Arts Society’s Tambayan in the Humanities building.

SYNOPSES:

Noche Buena

The story tells us about Sally and Henry, an engaged couple who has their life set out in front of them. However, some unexpected visitors from Sally’s past come to change the course of their Noche Buena.

Irene

One fateful night reconciles the star-crossed lovers, James, a renowned playwright and Sophie, a woman who now works as a female escort in a local pub. Desperate to save Sophie from her fate, James will do anything to win her back, all the while being haunted by an imminent death.
