MANILA, Philippines – After doing Always Be My Maybe with Arci Muñoz, Gerald Anderson will star in another movie, this time with Bea Alonzo.

In an interview with reporters during the story conference for his new show Because You Love Me Wednesday, April 27, Gerald said that he’s very excited for the new project.

“First time namin magsasama ni Bea which makes everything more exciting kasi you know, pangarap ko iyon. Pangarap ko pa lang iyon nung bata ako nung pinapanood ko siya,” Gerald said.

(First time that Bea and I will do a project together which makes everything more exciting because I’ve always dreamed about this. This is my dream when I was young when I was just watching her.)

“Pero sobrang totoo iyon. Napapanood ko siya sa TV. And you can’t imagine how I feel. This is surreal moment in my life na makakasama ko siya.”

(But it’s really true. I used to watch her on TV. And you can’t imagine how I feel. This is a surreal moment in my life to be paired up with her.)

The movie will be directed by Dan Villegas, who also directed the recent hit Always be My Maybe.

Gerald will also do Because You Love me with direk Dan and good friend Jake Cuenca, with whom he starred in two teleseryes in the past – Sana Maulit Muli and Tayong Dalawa. All of Me actress Yen Santos will be the leading lady.

“Mahirap explain na sobrang grateful ka, sobrang masaya ka. Hindi mo alam kung bakit. Parang feeling mo ano ba ang ginagawa ko para makuha ko itong klaseng blessing. Iniisip ko lang na ipagpatuloy mo lang na stay positive,” he said.

(it’s hard to explain how totally grateful you are, how happy you are. You don’t know why. it’s like you’re feeling what are you doing to receive this type of blessing. I just say to myself to continue with everything and stay positive.)

In the show, Gerald will play Niño, a young man from the province who starts training for triathlons. Coincidentally, Gerald has been doing the same since last year.

“Ang tagal namin gusto magsama uli,” Gerald said of Jake. “Nagpipitch na kami, nag-iisip kami ng konsepto and then this came along. Si Jake ang unang nag-confirm bago ako.”

(We wanted to have a project for a long time. We’ve been pitching, thinking of different concpets and then this came along. It was actually Jake who first confirmed before me.) 

“It’s a very personal show for me. Alam ko ang hirap na pinagdadaanan ng mga triathletes. And alam ko yung sport, yung image niya is pang-mayaman kasi you have to imagine – yung bike P200,000, P300,000….ipakikita namin sa mga tao na kaya ninyo gawin na ito,” he said. 

(I know the hardships triathletes go through. And I know the sport, the image it has that it is for the rich people because you have to imagine – the bike alone costs P200,000, P300,000…we will show everyone that you can do it.)
