WATCH: ‘Kilig’ overload as Backstreet Boys perform at Miss USA pageant

MANILA, Philippines – Back in the ’90s, the Backstreet Boys released some of their most unforgettable songs: “As Long As You Love Me,” “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart),” “I Want It That Way.” Decades later, they’ve proven that the appeal is still there and stronger than ever. The boys performed two songs at the recent Miss USA pageant, with pretty much everyone in the crowd singing along. 

Later that evening, Miss District of Columbia Deshauna Barber, an army reserve logistics company commander and an information technology analyst for the US Commerce Department, was crowned the new Miss USA. 

The boys sang “As Long As You Love Me” for the crowd, and then assisted the candidates as they walked onstage, serenading them with “I Want It That Way.” 

In a video posted by “The Dark Side of Backstreet” on YouTube, you can also see the reaction of the Philippines’ Pia Wurtzbach, the reigning Miss Universe (she’s just as thrilled as everyone else!).
