Robin reconciles with sister BB

MANILA, Philippines – Persistent rumors of a rift between Robin Padilla and his older sibling BB Gandanghari were at last put to rest, it seems, when Robin posted on his Instagram July 1 a picture of his son Ali in a quality-time moment with BB.

The action star referred to “her,” BB, as “my sister … who used to be my brother Rustom,” in the accompanying caption that effectively parried their rumored tension with light talk on boxing:

“My son Ali showing his boxing moves to my sister bb gandanghari who used to be my brother Rustom who beats me up when we were young. she #is so weak because of a very serious infection but her right cross is still as fast as before. my son was surprised and amazed.”

The Instagram post elicited positive feedback from netizens, many of them welcoming news of Robin’s coming to terms with BB’s sexuality.

But Robin had been emphatic in his claim before that his differences with BB had nothing to do with BB’s coming out. But this transition seemed to have lacked the action star’s support.

BB had been more candid about Robin’s reported refusal to accept the “death” of Rustom Padilla and his new incarnation as BB Gandanghari. For all that, BB has been looking forward to a reconciliation at “the proper time.” That moment has been captured and shared on Instagram.
