MANILA, Philippines – Just when a new show has been set up for TV host Amy Perez, she surprised the management of TV5 with her resignation from the network.

TV5 has issued a statement on Amy’s resignation. The actress-host of “The Good Morning Club” was supposed to host “Face the People” – a revamped show from “Face to Face” about two months ago, amid the widely reported tension between Amy and that show’s staff.

“TV5 Management and Ms. Amy Perez have mutually agreed to part ways,” the network said.

“TV5 respects the decision of  Ms. Perez to leave the Network due to personal reasons.

“She had been a valuable talent of TV5 and we wish her well and the best of luck in her future endeavors.”

“Face The People” would have bought together Amy and gal pal Gelli de Belen, who pinch-hit for Amy in “Face To Face” early in 2013, when Amy was on maternity leave.

Now the show will have Christine “Tintin” Bersola-Babao as Amy’s replacement.

Amy will no longer appear on “The Good Morning Club” as well, and on her radio program on Radyo Singko, dwFM 92.3.

On Twitter, Amy said she has moved to 106.7 Energy FM.

“I will forever be grateful. Thank you for the memories,” said her tweet. – Rappler.com
