LONDON, United Kingdom - Kate Middleton's younger sister Pippa describes her stardom — and the attention paid to her behind — after last year's royal wedding as "startling," in a book to be released this month.

"It is a bit startling to achieve global recognition (if that's the right word) before the age of 30 on account of your sister, your brother-in-law and your bottom," Pippa Middleton wrote in extracts released to the press.

The 29-year-old party planner, sister of Kate (known since her marriage to Prince William as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge) will provide a "comprehensive guide to home entertaining" in "Celebrate: A Year of British Festivities for Families and Friends."

"I certainly have opportunities many can only dream of — but in most ways I'm a typical girl in her 20s trying to forge a career and represent herself in what can sometimes seem rather strange circumstances," Middleton wrote.

The book is inspired by Middleton's experience with her family's party planning company, and her work with a London-based events company.

"I know many of you will pick up the book out of nothing more than curiosity," Middleton wrote.

"(But) I can assure you that it feels even stranger to me than it probably does to you to have seen so much written about me when I have done so little to paint a picture of myself.

"This is my first chance to do that and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it," Middleton wrote.

Last year it was reported that Middleton, who has previously written the online newsletter for her family's company, secured a £400,000 (US$640,000 / 490,000 euro) deal for the home entertaining book with a publisher.
