MANILA, Philippines – Fergie. Drew Barrymore. George Clooney. And now, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
The two megastars are the latest celebrities to put a stamp on alcoholic beverages, with the launch of their own wine label in March.
In a partnership with the Perrin winemakers of France, Jolie and Pitt will launch their first wine, the Miraval, a rose formerly named “Pink Floyd.”
The old name was a nod to the iconic band, who once recorded at the Studio Miraval, part of the Chateau Miraval estate.
Bloomberg reports the Famille Perrin group will start wine production with the 2012 harvest from the 1,000-acre estate in Correns, France, owned by the celebrity couple.
“If you knew Brad and Angelina, you would see they are in search of perfection in everything,” said winemaker Marc Perrin.
Perrin said the couple attended the rose blending sessions, and helped in the design of the label and bottle.
The label will be named “Jolie-Pitt and Perrin.”
“Brad and Angelina are very friendly, nice people and down to earth,” Perrin added.
Prior to this, numerous celebrities have already lent their names for wines and other beverages. – KD Suarez/Rappler.com
