MANILA, Philippines (2ND UPDATE) – If you’ve tried to make a new Facebook post recently, chances are you may have been unable to update your status.

A large number of users online from various parts of the world have noted the inability to use certain functions of Facebook, such as posting new status messages, with some reportedly unable to send a ticket to report the issue to Facebook.

Scattered reports online suggest that while some users may have some user functions, such as posting, picture and link sharing, or commenting, others may have none of those functions available as of 11:30 pm Philippine time. The issue also affects the Facebook iOS app, according to the Huffington Post.

User reports on DownRightNow have indicated a “likely service disruption” for Facebook. The website downtime tracker noted a drop in activity for Facebook at around 7:53 pm Monday, October 21, Philippine time.

Endgadget notes that Facebook’s developer page has been offline since 4:46 am PDT (7:46 pm Philippine time), with a massive spike in errors and API response time at around 8pm Philippine time.

Mashable and ThinkDigit have also reported on the issue, with neither having an official response from Facebook. Facebook has not released an official statement at this time.
